Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 1 represents a significant moment in the distillery’s history, marking the first time an expression with this specific age statement has been released in 2025 over one hundred years.
This release is the oldest in the Jack Daniel’s Aged Series, which includes 10 and 12-year-old expressions, showcasing the impact of extended maturation on their classic Tennessee whiskey. Batch 1 signifies the inaugural release of this venerable age statement in the modern era.
The creation of this whiskey begins with the traditional Jack Daniel’s mash bill: 12% malted barley, 80% corn, and 8% rye. Before aging, the newly distilled spirit undergoes the Lincoln County Process, which is mellowed drop by drop through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal.
This charcoal filtering step is essential for the character of Tennessee Whiskey, which removes impurities before maturation. Following this process, the whiskey is aged 14 years in new, charred American Oak Barrels. To manage the maturation over this extended period, the barrels spend their initial years in the upper sections of the rick houses before being moved to lower floors, a technique used to slow down oak interaction and develop complexity.
This Batch 1 expression is bottled at cask strength with (126.3 proof) 63.15% alcohol by volume (ABV), presenting the whiskey in its undiluted form directly from the barrel.
Jack Daniel’s 14-Year-Old Batch 1 is available in limited quantities and was first released only in the United States. Its status as the oldest age-stated release from the distillery in over a century makes it a notable expression for enthusiasts of Tennessee Whiskey. Enjoy!
